Osmonds World Tour, Cardiff, wow what a night!

Just doing a real quick post today, still have photos to download and sort out and want to organize my thoughts but will be posting bits and bobs over the next few days on the Concert last night at Cardiff International Arena and also my Meet and Greet experience with all The Osmonds..

**faint** <—– hint on what I thought of it all LOL

The other VERY important thing is I met lots of wonderful fans yesterday and it reminded me of one of the things I would love to have on this blog and that is a form of guest authoring.  If any of you lovely Osmond fans out there would like to write about your experience, hey good or bad, then we would love to hear about it, would love a picture to accompany it as well if you want to share one.

So for that purpose I have set up a special email account.. osmondsgalore@googlemail.com

There is only one requirement at the moment and that is just there to protect that account from unnecessary spam email and that is to, please also subscribe to this blog (free) via the “Google Feedburner” email box, top left on the side panel (if you have not already done so that it) and then email me at osmondsgalore@googlemail.com letting me know you have a story, big or little, doesn’t matter, that way, I can match up your email address with feedburner.

So come on girls and boys, yep I know you Osmond fans of the male gender are out there, we want to hear from you…

Stay tuned for my own updates and more news on the raffle comp to raise money for Marie’s charity, “Childrens Miracle Network, UK”.

Celebrities going to Osmonds Concerts

I just read a great newspaper review, written by Glenn Meads for The Manchester Evening News and you know what, I don’t think he mentioned Osmond teeth once in the article, WOW!! LOL

I also liked this article because, again, it’s another with a slideshow from the event, so some great pictures and this time lots of fans photo’s too, I like seeing the fans and their happy faces.

When I looked at the slideshow there was one picture, I think ‘11 of 12′ in the slideshow of a celebrity going to the concert, Michael Lavel who plays “Kevin” in Coronation Street, now I wonder, is he the fan or was it for his wife, also pictured in the slideshow with their lovely family.

It also reminded me of one of Donny’s appearances at Hammersmith Apollo a couple of years ago where I spotted another Celebrity attendee and this time he was on his own so you knew it was because HE wanted to be there, very cool.  I also spoke to Tony and this is how that turned out:

I had lost my ticket but was able to get it reprinted at the box office, so had to queue up for the ticket just before the show started, whilst waiting in the queue I happened to turn around and got the shock of my life when I found myself looking up to (he is VERY tall, well to me he is as I am only 5ft) Tony Slattery, a favourite comedian of mine who I love watching in “Whose Line is it Anyway” on TV.

He was grinning at me and my obvious shock so I had to speak to him now didn’t I??.. I just said something completely stupid like

“wow Tony, fancy seeing you here” and then.. get this, “what are you doing here?” to which of course he answered, waiting to get my ticket LOL - so I think I said, “Oh you like Donny then?” and he said, he used to love The Osmonds music in the 70’s and saw Donny was playing here so thought he would pop along and catch the show…

I was impressed, most blokes who are NOT celebs who are old enough to have been teens in the 70’s won’t admit liking The Osmonds music so I was dead chuffed to hear Tony saying that.. made my night.

It got me to thinking, how many other Celebs are there out there who like the Osmonds and go to their concerts? If you have been to an Osmond or Donny concert, have you bumped into or seen any celebs going along, we would love to hear about it so please do let us know by leaving a comment.

I also wanted to mention to people that I will be running a Raffle after the Osmond 50th Anniversary Tour to win a photo and all you have to do to be in with a chance is to subscribe to “Osmonds Galore” via the Feedburner subscription box in the left side panel, it’s free to subscribe and it means you get emailed when there is an update here, so you won’t miss when I announce the raffle.

I hope to get some good photos myself next week and am also hoping to get “whatever picture I will raffle” signed as well but I can’t promise either of those things but stay tuned to “Osmonds Galore” to find out what does get raffled, something will, trust me.

The Star “Osmond Fever hits Sheffield” with Slideshow

I am not going to say too much about this report from “The Star” (Sheffield) because you may as well go read it for yourself BUT I do want to highlight this article instead of just including a link in my Media Coverage Links on the right, for two reasons.

1. Kudos to the author ‘Nick Ward’ for this one sentence quoted from the report:

A wholesome and cheesy bunch they may be - but no one should deride them for that.

Well said Nick, it is so nice to see a reporter not afraid to say that.. Osmond Fans will know what I mean and if you want to comment and tell Nick, then please do so, I have a comment section below.

2. This report comes with a slideshow from the concert, so girls (ok and guys LOL) get your backsides over there to see the slideshow… what you waiting for? :)

Official Osmond 50th Anniversary World Tour Photos, Review

If you want to keep up to date on The Osmonds 50th Anniversary World Tour, including, mini blogs and exclusive photography then look no further than Jeremy Hall and his two websites.

He is the official photographer and is on tour with the Osmonds right now and is of course granted exclusive access, so you will get to see photos from behind the scenes as well as fantastic concert pictures.

The behind the scenes stuff is absolutely amazing, especially for an Osmond fan as you basically get to see “The Tour Process” in action and Jeremy always manages to get unusual and ‘real’ photos which really makes you feel a part of the tour, this is helped tremendously by the ‘mini blogs’ which often accompany these exclusive shots.

I also like the fact that Jeremy shows us photo’s of the places they are visiting on the tour, Jeremy loves to photograph architecture and is excellent at spotting angles to take shots from and making just normal scenes and buildings come to life, so check out those photo’s as well, oh AND a picture of Jeremy himself with Neil Diamond, Neil was a guest on the Jonathan Ross Show at the same time as The Osmonds.

You can see photos and mini blogs by visiting and bookmarking these two websites (which are also in my “featured links” list in the left hand side panel of this blog):

Jeremy’s blog: “What’s Gotta Stay”

Jeremy’s Website: “Osmondmania.com 2008 World Tour”

Sometime after the tour finishes Jeremy will be putting a tour book together and having seen his work before I can pretty much guarantee the absolute value of one of these books.

Very shortly, you will be able to pre-order the book in the pre-sale, so you need to keep an eye on Jeremy’s site “Osmondmania.com 2008 World Tour”

But until we can get our sticky little mitts on this fabulous book, Jeremy has permission to show a few “teasers” so my advise, bookmark the two sites, subscribe to Jeremy’s “What’s Gotta Stay” and check there daily as he posts normally once or twice a day directly from the tour.

Marie Osmond on the floor again!

But don’t worry, this was on purpose this time :)

A report from Entertainment Tonight and their ‘on the scene’ reporter Donny Osmond showing lots of backstage fun on The Osmonds 50th Anniversary Tour, which kicked off a few days ago in the UK.

In the video Donny barges into Marie’s dressing room right before show time and we see Marie, on the floor putting on her stage make-up.

“So what!” you might ask - well, this firstly struck me as funny, “oh dear Marie’s on the floor again” and then secondly I was in awe - yep, realizing that Marie and I are the same age, give or take a month or two and at 38, well I just know, I couldn’t sit on my knees and apply my make-up because, well, OUCH!!!

So Marie, kudos to you for being able to do that, I know it must have helped when your fitness shot up from appearing on “Dancing with the Stars” because when I started dancing a few years ago my fitness also shot up (lost a ton of weight too) BUT I am still not able to sit, kneeling on the floor for anything more than say one second.  I’m impressed! how the heck do you do that??

I think I might ask and get some leg fitness tips when I see Marie on the 28th in Cardiff, yeah, that’s what I’ll do.

Oh almost forgot, the link to the video which is great fun to watch, not just for the Marie part.

Here you go - Entertainment Tonight Video and Report

**Note to Marie** (means everyone else can stop reading now)

When you see me on the 28th, you can thank me for “accidentally” dropping a decade off our age, let’s just call that ‘artistic licence’ *insert chuffed smiley icon here*…
